A restaurant near Val-Morin? We're right next door

By Tim Robertson·on October 28, 2026

I'll be honest: we're not in Val-Morin. We're in Val-David, the village right next door, about three kilometres further down the P'tit Train du Nord trail (their station sits at kilometre 39, ours at 42). But if you're looking for dinner around Val-Morin, we've already got a bit of your town in our fridges.

In our seasonal cans, we pour Brasserie Ayawan, out of Val-Morin: Le Matin des Magiciens, Le Don de la Clarté, Dans une Foret. It rotates with what's left, but when it's there, it's there.

We even share the same park, the Val-David-Val-Morin regional park, so as neighbours go, we're not doing too badly. Winter is cross-country skis and snowshoes. Summer is bikes on the trail. Either way it ends well with a pint and a hot plate, and the trail runs right past our door, the Rivière du Nord across the road.

It's a pub, yes, but it's a proper restaurant too. Beer-battered haddock fish and chips. The cheeseburger, beef from Boeuf Local in Mirabel, bun from Boulangerie Graintitude in Sainte-Agathe. The steak of the moment, whatever Mike finds that week. Private import wines, and maple sticky toffee pudding to finish. The menu is short. On purpose.

Coming as a group? For 9 to 20 people it's the Roast Dinner in our private room: one roast for the whole table, the rest of the meal comes with it. It's all on the page, prices included, so you can decide before you write to us.

One practical note: we're closed Wednesdays and Thursdays, and we take a break from November 1 to 26, back Friday the 27th. The rest of the time we open at 5 pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and at noon Saturday and Sunday. And if it gets late, there are seven rooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom, breakfast included.

Book on OpenTable, or just come by. We're right next door.
