This week in the village, the potters are here

Come up this week. I mean it.

Every July our little village turns into something else. A hundred and some potters set up all over town, the whole place smells like summer, and people wander around for hours with their arms full of bowls and cups they didn't know they needed. It's 1001 Pots, it's been going since the eighties, and it runs right into mid-August. Honestly, it's one of the best weeks of our year.

We get the best seat for it, behind the bar. Folks come in glowing, a little sunburnt, a bowl wrapped in newspaper under one arm, and they're hungry. That's our favourite kind of guest.

(And the question I still get every single week: yes, this used to be Le Baril Roulant. Same building, new crew, Mike in the kitchen and me at the bar since 2025.)

So here's the plan. Do the potters. Hit the Saturday market right on our street. Walk down to the river. And when your feet give out, we're right here, pint poured, kitchen open late. The World Cup final's on Sunday too, if that's your thing, just ask and we'll put it on.
